January 18th-22nd
*As a school, we have decided not to have a valentines day exchange this year. There will be a school wide message sent to parents tomorrow. *
This week we discussed the Circle of Courage. We focused on Independence and talked about things that they might want to learn to do by themselves. We had so many great ideas from learning to bake cookies, learning to ride a bike with two wheels and learning to skate without help.
We also met Le Nez. We are learning to isolate sounds within words, and practiced identifying if a sound was in the beginning, middle or end of a word. We have also been practicing how to clap out syllables.
We have finished off our unit on Shapes! We should now be able to identify most of the shapes in French and also names some of the characteristics that go with with each shape.
I am looking for some volunteers to help make some extra play dough for the class. I will be happy with any color and any amount. Thanks so much in advance!
Below are some pictures of the quilts we created earlier in the year using tie dye and sharpies.
