This week the kids worked SO HARD on their Remembrance Day video.  We have been practicing how to do "Oh Canada " in sign language for the virtual assembly and we continued to work on discussing the importance of Remembrance Day and why we continue to honor this day each year. We also discussed Peace - "La paix" and asked the question "what does Peace mean to me?". The answers the kids came up with were amazing; snuggling my cat is la paix, reading my new lego book is la paix, baking with my mom is la paix and so many more. We also finished our vowel family!! While reading at home,  have your kids pick out all the vowels and tell you what they are in French as well as what sound they make? October 19th-23rd This week we had lots of fun learning Halloween vocabulary. We practice saying these words in full sentences using the sentence starter " Je vois.......". We used our scariest voices to say each sentence. I have attached the picture we used to help prompt ideas. Can your kiddo point out any new words they learned this week?   We also made mini Halloween Math books that the kids really want to take home. I promised they could bring them home on Halloween. For these books the students had to pick numbers from 1-10 and pick a Halloween word to go with it. We are practicing saying the numbers only in French, and using strategies to figure out the more difficult numbers. We have been working on counting the pictures on the page in French, counting on our fingers, using a number line and even using the numbers on the calendar to help us.  *School pictures have been sent home.
